The So Cal Renegades will meet the Arizona Athletics at 5 p.m. Saturday (July 30) and Hoots Baseball will meet the Nighthawks at 5 p.m. Hoots, from Danville, Calif., is the only team without a loss.

The championship will be decided either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Donovan Chambers hit .667 and was named tournament MVP after leading the Yard Dogs to the Willie Mays (10u) title in Puerto Rico.

Host Brownsville, Texas wins Jackie Robinson World Series

AZPro White beats Athletics, forces second game for Connie Mack title

Joe Ford hit a key double in the second inning and came into save the game in the seventh Saturday night at the Tempe Diablo complex as the AZPro White beat the Athletics 11-8 in the Arizona Connie Mack Championship tournament.

The victory forced a second championship round game in the double-elimination tournament.  The Pros and Athletics will again at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Diablo.

Ford doubled to help spark a six-run rally in the second inning. Brent James had an RBI single in the rally. Jorge Ozuna and Jake McDavid each doubled during the fifth when the AZPros added four runs.

Winner Jake Tant pitched six-plus innings for the Pros before Ford recorded the final three outs.

The Athletics, who made the semifinals of the Firecracker in Southern California , had gone through the state tournament undefeated, beating AZ Pro White 4-3 in the second round.

“This a a competitive bunch,” Pros coach Therron Brockish said. “We knew they had a chance to just keep playing.”

A2 Travelers win  Connie Mack North Central Regional

The A2 Travelers, or Ann Abor Travelers,  didn’t miss on the second shot at a berth in Connie Mack World Series. Sparks-McEnery forced a second championship game in the North Central Regional with an 8-7 victory. A2 Travelers won the game 5-4.

All-Star  Baseball Academy  wins Arizona Mattingly

All-Star Baseball Academy defeated the Athletics 5-3 Friday night at the Tempe Diablo Complex to win the Arizona Mattingly (17u) title.

Texas Mattingly champ: Dbat Mustangs Spencer

The Dbat Mustangs Spencer beat Burkburnett Blacksox Black 5-3 Saturday (July 16) to take the Texas Don Mattingly title. The Dbat Mustangs went thought the tournament unbeaten.
