So did Justin Bour’s hit to break Shelby Miller’s no-hit bid with two outs in the ninth cost Miami Manager Mike Redmond his job?

That as the theory the guys on ESPN Sports Center were batting around Sunday night, based on the idea that the post-game atmosphere would just be too weird if you fired the manager after a no-hitter. And I can’t recall that scenario ever happening.

The Associated Press on the other hand took the tack that the previous 8 2/3 innings were Redmond’s undoing.

My theory is more Arizona-centric. Any loss Sunday was going to cost Redmond his job.

This is the prefect time to make a change.

Not only are the Marlins reeling from a 16-22 start, but look who is coming to town: The Arizona Diamondbacks, losers of four straight and fresh off a sweep at the hands of the hapless Phillies.

What better way to star the tenure of GM-turned-manager Dan Jennings.
